ADHD is a type of neurodivergence that effects attention and hyperactivity. It is poorly named and is NOT a deficit of attention. People with ADHD commonly experience hyperfocus which is an abundance of intense focus, but may struggle to direct it in the direction that other’s require.
Like other types of neurodivergence ADHD is a way that your brain is wired. It is not a disease or something that you “outgrow” as an adult. People of all ages have ADHD.
